CIHF Membership Rules & Eligibility

CATEGORIES & ITS ELIGIBILITY

Member :- Any company, organisation or firm in India linked with healthcare directly or indirectly, engaged in manufacturing, marketing or providing consultancy services or present in the services sector Including Hospitals, Clinics, Nursing Homes, Medical Collages, Educational Institute, Insurance, Financial Services, Information Technology, Tourism & Hospitality or any other company interrelated with healthcare is eligible.

Individual member :- Any person or individual associated with the healthcare industry directly or indirectly, may be consultant, doctor, working professional or self-employed, is eligible.

Associate Member :- Representative Offices of foreign Healthcare related organisation having no physical presence in India but working here as a liaison offices under the approval of Reserve Bank of India are eligible. The Associate Membership would be converted into Member category as and when the liaison office status changes to a full-fledged company with the commencement of commercial activity or services, which generates sales turnover in India.

Affiliated Association :- National or Regional Associations / Councils / Organizations’ related with Healthcare industry are eligible. Affiliation to CIHF of such bodies would not affect the autonomy or independence of the affiliated body, which would retain the complete right to decide and to pursue its own line of action.

Institutional Member :- National or Regional Professional Institutes / organization’s related with Healthcare industry dealing with educational & training, research & development, technical up-gradation of healthcare processes, exploration of new resources, etc. as distinct from Industry Associations /Councils / organizations’ are eligible.

International Member :- Healthcare related Foreign Companies / organization’s operating from outside India are eligible.

MEMBERSHIP ADMISSION PROCEDURE

For admission as a member of CIHF, a company or organisation shall make an application in writing to the head of the respective region on the prescribed form, which shall be signed by the applicant. The application shall contain an acceptance of, and an agreement to abide by, the Rules & Regulations of CIHF.

Such an application shall be proposed by one and seconded by another member and may be admitted by the Regional Offices of the concerned Region after the Regional / State office-bearers have met the applicant.

All admissions, except where expressly otherwise stated, shall be made by the Regional office and all applications for membership shall be submitted to the Regional Head, where the applicant’s principal establishment is located.

Individual member:Formal application to accompany last Year Income Tax Return, PAN Card or Election card, personal profile or CV and membership fees. 

Member:Formal application, company profile and certificate of incorporation (for a newly established company) alongwith membership fees. 

Associate Member:Formal application to accompany copy of RBI approval for opening liaison office in India & copy of annual report of parent company and membership fees. 

Affiliation / Institutional Member:Formal application to accompany Memorandum & Articles of Association / Institution, list of Governing council, last annual report & audited accounts, membership fee, etc.

International Member:A signed application in writing from a firm or company in overseas shall be sent to the Secretary / Director General of CIHF on the prescribed form. Formal application to accompany audited accounts, annual report, payment.

Patron Member: Any Individual of Imminent Repute associated with the Healthcare Industry directly or indirectly, may be a Consultant Doctor, working professional, self-employed or retired, is eligible, with a minimum of over 20 years plus industry experience specifically in the healthcare industry.

Chartered Members: Any Successful Individual associated with the Healthcare Industry directly or indirectly, may be a Consultant Doctor, working professional, self-employed or retired, is eligible with a minimum of over 10 years plus industry experience specifically in the healthcare industry.

First Payment:

Full subscription for admissions during January to June; half for admissions during July to December.

Resignation

Any member may withdraw from the CIHF by giving three months’ notice, in writing, to the Secretary, of his intention to do so provided that the annual subscription for the current year and other dues has been fully paid up.

Cessation of Membership

A member shall ipso facto cease to be a member of the CIHF:

• In case it defaults in paying subscription

• In case it resigns in the manner laid above


Matter relating to expulsion, resignation, cessation etc. shall be decided as per the Rules of the Confederation of International Healthcare Foundation.

Members’ Participation

It is important that all members are aware of, and takes advantage of, the services provided. Only member’s participation in the events and use of the various services will be a measure of the adequacy of the secretariat’s endeavors. It is only through members’ feedback that new services can be developed and evolved.

Participation Levels

ZonalMembers’ first level of participation is at the zonal level where they can participate in the Zonal Councils and other Zonal activities.

StateThe second level of participation enables members to participate in State Councils, which determine the official policy on state issues & Sub-Committees.

RegionThis third level of participation enables members to take part in the Regional Council, members of which have the final say on all policy matters affecting the region as a whole and Sub-Committees.

National Healthcare Committee: CIHF National Healthcare Committee play a vital role in India’s Healthcare policy development and the composition of such committees comes from CIHF membership.[Only Patron and Chartered members Eligible.]

International & Country Healthcare Committees: Participation and active involvement in these help members to reach out to global healthcare market[Only Patron members Eligible.]

The National Council: This is the all-India policy making body of CIHF. Many of the seats in the Council are filled through the election process. Every member is free to put forward ideas, draft policy proposals and present them to the president & vice president. [Only Patron and Chartered members eligible.]
