• Employee Payroll giving, where employees pledge voluntarily part of their salary for a cause of their choice.

• CIHF creates the payroll giving strategy for the corporate, organizes the payroll giving launch, assists and guides HR through the process and monitors and evaluates the progress of the NGO projects supported.

Some examples of the impact made through payroll giving:

• Scholarship provided to underprivileged students from government school for higher education.

• Nutritious mid-day meals provided to children in schools, shelters for orphan kids and destitute children of the society.

• Skill based training to youth to make them job ready and employable.

• Heath checkups camps & Medical facilities provided to elderly, needy & poor of the society.

How to get involved?

Payroll giving is a voluntary program for employees of a corporate, to make regular financial contributions to NGO projects across the country working on different causes ranging from education, healthcare & social well-being from their salaries, through their company’s payroll.

If you are a CORPORATE:

We offer:

• Strategy Plan – Create a suitable payroll giving strategy for your company.

• Select suitable NGOs – Identify NGOs as per the philosophy of the corporate/choice of the employees.

• Due Diligence of the NGOs – We ensure that all funds are directed to credible non profits with excellent track record in helping build sustainable communities.

• Create a buzz - Devise innovative ways to ensure the payroll giving program in your company achieves its objectives. Create collaterals – videos, posters, brochures, mailers etc. so that there is 100 % participation.

• Manage all the back end work -Compilation of employee donation data, creation of an online system for giving, so as to facilitate a smooth flow of funds from the corporate to the NGOs.

• Fund Management- Quarterly disbursement to the NGOs selected for inclusion under the program.

• Monitoring & Evaluation – We believe in focused giving, where the money goes to an identified project at the NGO rather than to the NGO itself. The projects selected are closely monitored by CIHF and employees get regular reports on the project they are helping to grow. A mid-term review is conducted every 6 months which is followed by an annual evaluation determining the plan for the next year.

• Provide Reports and Feedback on the NGO progress – Regular visits are conducted to the NGOs/projects and quarterly updates are provided to the employees. A half yearly and an annual fund utilization statement are also submitted to the corporate and the employee donors.

• Organize Employee Engagement Programs – An employee engagement calendar is prepared so that employees are given ample opportunities to visit the NGOs and spend time with the beneficiaries.

Benefits

• Corporate - Quick and easy to set-up and administer, Payroll Giving is a great way for you to demonstrate commitment to the causes that your employees care about. It can also aid retention and recruitment of staff, and enable you to generate a sustainable income stream to charities.

• Employees – Payroll Giving is an easy, tax-effective way to give to charity so it costs employees less to give more. The system is easy to opt in and out of, giving donors full control over their giving. Employees are entitled to claim 50% tax exemption under 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 for giving.
